Summer Sunset Guided Walk
The Friends of Bold Park Bushland guides will be leading a series of free sunset walks over summer to take advantage of the cooler part of the day and to look for some of the wildlife that are active as dusk approaches.
Rainbow bee-eaters and honeyeaters are busy flying around to find their last meal of the day while cockatoos call loudly on the way to their overnight roosts. Skinks are absorbing the final few rays of sunshine and insects collect nectar from summer-flowering plants such as the slender banksia and snakebush. As it gets dark, geckoes, wolf spiders, owls, and possums start to stir.
These guided walks all start from the WA Ecology Centre carpark on Perry Lakes Drive. Wear suitable shoes for walking and bring a torch to light the path after sunset. Walks will be cancelled if a severe fire danger warning is in place.
Join our volunteer guides for a walk through the bushland during the cool of the evening. ...
