Join the Friends of Bold Park Bushland for an after-dark guided walk searching for some of the nocturnal animals that live in Bold Park

Many of Australia’s native animals are nocturnal, so evenings are a great time to look for small creatures as they emerge from their daytime hiding spots.

Listen carefully to hear quendas digging and hopping amongst the bushes. Study tree trunks to see geckoes poking out from under pieces of loose bark. Look up and you may see bats darting above. Watch out for the webs of orb-weaver spiders and use your torch to spot the twinkling eyes of wolf spiders as they emerge from their underground burrows. With a little luck, we might spot a tawny frogmouth or boobook owl quietly watching from the trees or a brushtail possum munching on some leaves.

These are just some of the amazing wild animals that we'll hope to see during this exploration of the bushland!

Purchase tickets from Humanitix

Please note that this is a ticketed event with a limited number of places available. All attendees, including children over 4 years of age, must have a ticket. Children 4 yrs and under are free, but the late finish time means it may not be suitable for very young children.

We'll be following an established walking trail, which includes some uphill sections, so a moderate level of fitness will be required. Wear closed-in shoes suitable for walking and come dressed for the weather. Bring a torch to light the path and binoculars, if you have them, to help spot animals high in the trees.

This event will go ahead even during rainy weather (rain is good for frogspotting!). The walk will only be cancelled (and tickets refunded) if a severe weather warning is in place at the time of the walk.
