A Walk for Mum: Mother's Day in Bold Park
While some mums are the breakfast-in-bed or brunching types, others mums want to get active and enjoy some time outdoors. If you, or a mum you know, are this kind of Mum, join our volunteers for a guided walk through Bold Park to search for some of the flowers and animals that grow in the local bushland.
May is a wonderful time to explore, with cooler weather and the early rains bringing the bushland to life after the long, hot summer. Annual plants are starting to grow turning the bushland green. Established plants are putting out new growth before it gets cold, with some species flowering exclusively at this time of year. Animals are also emerging, warming up in the morning sun and taking advantage of the new food sources. We'll be looking for all of these things and perhaps learning a bit about some of the wild mums and how they go about motherhood.
This walk is free and suitable for all ages. Wear comfortable walking shoes and come dressed for the weather, with a hat and drinking water.
Bookings are not required, but please let us know if you are bringing a group of 10 or more people. Our events go ahead in rain or shine, however walks may be cancelled if a severe weather warning is in place.
