Bold Park Bird Walk

Over 60 species of birds are regularly seen in Bold Park, including many species that can be hard to identify for beginner birdwatchers.

Birdwatching is an increasingly popular hobby and southwest WA is one of the best places in the world for interesting and unique birdlife. But many of the species living in our bushland areas are LBBs - little brown birds - which even experienced birdwatchers have difficulty identifying at times.

On this walk we will be looking for the birds, big and small, that can be found in our bushland areas. We'll also learn a little about each species and share some tips for identifying them. With some luck, we might come across some less common species to add to your life list - Bold Park is one of the better spots to see Tawny Frogmouths, Painted Button-quails, Little Eagles, and more. 

Bring binoculars or a camera if you have them, wear comfortable walking shoes, and dress for the forecast weather. Our walks go ahead in rain or shine, however they may be cancelled if a severe weather warning is in place.
